In my opinion, the best designer to come from Project Runway is Christain Siriano. He is one of the most sought after designers at the moment by admirers and those that can afford to wear his works of art. He studied Fashion Design at the School of Arts in Baltimore. He began working for many very famous brands early on such as; Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and Marc Jacobs. This lead him to apply for Project Runway, which he ended up winning. Again, supporting my opinion that he is the most incredible designer to come from a competition show. After winning the show, he launched his own brand, and since has been a common designer seen on the red carpet. In 2018 he styled 17 different celebrities for the Oscars.

On September 18th, 2020, Christian hosted his Spring/Summer 2021 collection at his home, socially distanced, and every guest got their own picnic basket and bottle of champagne for the show. He had models of all shapes and sizes, which is so necessary, and yet you almost never see designers making clothing for anyone larger than a size 8. All of his models had coordinating face masks with their gorgeous dresses. His collection was partly political and always aesthetically pleasing.

New York

Spring/Summer 2021 Collection

Look 1 is a gorgeous lime colored asymmetrical dress with matching mask. I believe as the pandemic progresses, and masks are more important right now than ever, matching a mask to your outfit will be done much more. The model is carrying two different bags; one as the red focal point and pop of color, and the other is a matching green bag. The asymmetry is very on trend right now as well as this color of lime green. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the next Pantone color of the year because of its popularity.

Look 2 is a lace corset which I am loving. Corsets are also very popular right now, as well as wearing lingerie outside of the bedroom. It is sexy and a statement of women's empowerment. The draped silky pants with pockets add to the lingerie feel of this look and yet it also adds an element of professionalism.

Look 3 is one of his many, iconic political statements. The hat, mask, and dress have VOTE printed all over it. I love when designers make statements with their clothing and this one felt necessary to include since this November's election is incredibly important.

Look 4 is a red plaid monochromatic outfit. I think cropped blazers are going to be very popular in the fall as well as outfits with matching patterns. This look is giving me Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2021 vibes with the vibrant plaid. I love the matching head to toe aesthetic coupled with the coordinating bag and shoes that really finish off the entire outfit.

Look 5 is a fun yellow tulle dress with flowers all over it. Even the mask is blooming with flowers. This truly shows Christian's dresses are a work of art. This one is so unique and vibrant.

Look 6 is my favorite of the entire collection. I love the comic book/newspaper print that has become popular recently. The model looks absolutely stunning and the dress is so flattering on her beautiful figure. It may be a small detail, but I love the exaggerated lines between the prints. It is so unique. I've seen many comic book prints, but I haven't seen one done quite like this.
