Ganni was founded in 1999, in Copenhagen. When Ditte Reffstrup (creative director) and her husband Nicolaj Reffstrup (the CEO) took over the fashion label in 2009, Ganni has seen steady growth and has become a cult fashion brand. Ditte wanted to change the brand from it’s original bohemian and androgynous roots to something she could connect with better. So she created something her and her friends would want to wear. She wanted to create feminine clothing that would be paired with sneakers or denim. She wanted to keep the cool effortless Copenhagen style in the Ganni brand.
This collection wanted to highlight Ganni's signature pieces: the exaggerated pilgrim collar, subtle embellishments, floral prints, and effortless silhouettes.
Copenhagen
Pre-Fall 2021

Look 1 - I am absolutely obsessed with this look, I love the pink in the top with a unique curved ruching and black rose print, I think it’s so cool how it’s styled over one of Ganni's classic leather button down top. I'm loving that it’s paired with a pair of pink Ganni sweatpants, while I personally wouldn't pair those two together I adore the top pieces and the sweatpants separately for very different reasons.

Look 2 - This print is Ganni's signature yellow and brown zebra print, while this photo is black and white and doesn't show the normal color of this print. I love the loose fit of this dress with the backless detail and the slight scalloped edge. I looks like this dress is paired with matching fabric pants which I love the idea of wearing an oversized dress with straight leg pants of the exact same pattern.

Look 3 - This looks includes a Ganni Graphic tee which I am dying to get my hands on one day, I love that they layered a dress over it. The dress looks like it has a tiny polka dot print and it’s branded Ganni with ganni written in different fonts all over I a light pink color. I think it’s interesting that the also decided to layer a green leather vest with ruffle cap sleeves over the top of the shirt and the dress but it looks effortless and cool. I think the green vest would also look adorable button down with nothing underneath and jeans. I know that Ganni recently collaborate with New Balance on a sneaker line but I love that it looks like these might be their first ever sneaker. I love the oversized Ganni tag on the tongue of the sneaker and the light pink lines.

Look 4 - This look highlights the classic oversized pilgrim collar with ruffles all around. This puts a very different spin on the denim tuxedo with a mesh dress over the top. I also know that Ganni recently collaborated with Levis and made shirts and pants very similar to this. The top looks to have some interesting king of closure, I can't really tell what kind of closure they used it almost looks like a toggle, but it also looks more modern that a toggle closure. The jeans have a cropped flare fit which I think is very classic to Ganni.

Look 5 - I love the Uniqueness of the top of this Ganni Dress. Everything about the neckline, the one sleeve, the ruching is so unique but It works so well with the acid wash tie dye print. I love the high slit in the dress and I think it would be the perfect dress for a fancy occasion with heels or dressed down with sneakers. Ganni is always known for mixing prints that no one would probably ever think of putting together, so with this dress the model is wearing gingham sandals with a bow.
