Thierry Mugler is a French designer that started his brand in 1978. In 1992 he joined the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, which is a committee who selects which designers can be considered couture or not. His fashion shows were always high production high voltage, theatrical runway shows. His pieces reflect this fetishistic element and sexy silhouettes.

While Thierry Mugler isn’t the designer anymore, Casey Cadwallader took over as head designer for Mugler, he's focused more on how women dress in their everyday life and now in high drama. With celebrities like Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian wearing Mugler's achieve pieces, the pieces designed by Thierry himself seem more relevant than ever.

Paris

Spring/Summer 2021

Look 1 - I'm obsessed with these jeans, the two tone makes it look like the white area is a thong. I think it's very on brand with the sexiness that Mugler has always embodied but I dont think jeans have ever been designed by Mugler. I think they are so cool, and the details in paneling would take a long time to perfect, to make them fit the body this perfectly.

Look 2 - This looks is so ethereal, I could see this as a wedding dress, the way the white fabric just sits so perfectly on her neck and arms is gorgeous. The draping around the waist is really pretty, and accentuates her natural figure. while the photo was edited to be wrapped I can't really tell if theres any other design details about this dress.

Look 3 - The main reason I was drawn to this look was those tights!! they're so cool and unique how they are over the top of her heel, and they are a gradient from neon green to a pretty orange. I think the item of clothing she's wearing is dress, which I really like the multiple straps and asymmetry of it.

Look 4 - This dress is so cool, and the same tights as the last look except all black. I love this dress and how the sheer paneling makes the black sections look like they're floating on her body, its so unique, yet wearable (to the right event). I can see how the new head designer isn’t making Mugler as Avant-Garde as it used to be.

Look 5 - The amount of power this outfit possesses. This suit is so incredible, again with the sheer paneling it makes it look like the fabric is floating in her midsection and above the knees on the pants. The oversized shoulders in the blazer has been super popular again just like in the 80's.
